New community center as a place for encounters and community
The new community center on Holländerstraße in Karlsruhe-Daxlanden has created a central meeting place that offers local residents space for encounters, exchange, and community activities. The new building replaces an existing building in need of renovation and sends a clear signal for a modern, future-oriented community life.
Comprehensive facilities for a wide range of uses
The heart of the new building is the ground floor, which features a spacious, light-filled community hall with floor-to-ceiling windows. Equipped with state-of-the-art lighting and event technology, the hall can be used flexibly and provides the ideal conditions for events, meetings, and celebrations. Youth rooms, sanitary facilities, technical ancillary rooms, and storage space for the church complete the offering. The result is a functional, future-proof infrastructure that meets the diverse needs of the community.
Sustainability and modern technology
The building was constructed in accordance with the criteria of the 2020 Building Energy Act (GEG) and meets the KfW Bank's requirements for energy-efficient construction as a BEG Efficiency House 55 EE. A central air-to-water heat pump on the roof ensures an environmentally friendly energy supply. The green flat roof supports the microclimate and contributes to the ecological enhancement of the location.
Central location in the heart of Daxlanden
Located right next to the church, the community center is perfectly integrated into social and church life. Its location means that it is within easy reach and encourages active use by all generations. With its modern architecture, the building blends harmoniously into the townscape and enriches public life in the district.
