With the construction of the "Mehrgenerationenhaus Am Langen Rain”, weisenburger bau GmbH has created a forward-thinking residential and care concept in Müllheim. On a plot of approximately 4,600 m², two modern apartment buildings were developed, featuring a total of 38 two- to four-room apartments as well as a five-group daycare center. An underground garage with bicycle parking complements the project. The two buildings are connected via a central courtyard with a playground, encouraging neighborhood interaction.

Daycare Center with Flexible Layout and Generous Outdoor Space

The daycare center spans around 900 m² and provides space for three kindergarten groups and two nursery groups. It includes a multi-purpose room, a canteen, a kitchen, as well as studio and changing rooms. A floor-to-ceiling wood-and-glass partition acoustically and visually separates the canteen from the hallway and foyer. Direct access to the green areas on the ground floor and the courtyard playground extends the children's play and recreation spaces.

Energy Efficicency and Innovative Technology

The quarter complies with the German Building Energy Act (GEG 2020) and meets the Efficiency House 40 EE standard in line with the Federal Funding for Efficient Buildings (BEG). The apartment buildings feature high-performance insulation and modern, energy-efficient building systems.

Barrier-Free Living and a Natural Setting

A platform lift on the east side of the community square ensures full barrier-free access throughout the project. Located on the eastern edge of Müllheim, the multigenerational quarter is nestled between vineyards and the town entrance. The city center is within walking distance, allowing residents to enjoy the peace of nature while benefiting from well-connected urban infrastructure.

Implemented by weisenburger bau GmbH with the Katholischer Darlehensfonds (Catholic Loan Fund) as investor, the quarter stands for social responsibility, sustainable construction, and intergenerational living.
