Linkenheim-Hochstetten - The ground-breaking ceremony for the new building complex of the Geschwister Nees Foundation in Linkenheim-Hochstetten has taken place. This “neighbourhood of diversity” will feature nursing facilities for the elderly, apartments for assisted living, student flats, a day-care centre for children, a community café and offices for the neighbourhood management. weisenburger bau GmbH is acting as general contractor for this inter-generational project.
The Geschwister Nees Foundation, which has been closely associated with the Lutheran Evangelisches Stift Freiburg since 2018, bears the responsibility for this inter-generational building project. The project includes a nursing home with 90 places, divided into six residential groups with 15 single rooms each. Additionally, there will be nursing facilities for the elderly, apartments for assisted living, student flats, a day-care centre for children, a community café and offices for the neighbourhood management. All these facilities are part of the new quarter called “Quartier der Zukunft”. The project’s aim is for different generations to live together in future. The inter-generational neighbourhood makes sure that future residents are well connected to the community. The focus is on older people and their appropriate care as well as on as much self-determination as possible.
weisenburger bau GmbH also signed the general contractor agreement at the symbolic ground-breaking ceremony. Now nothing stands in the way of the start of construction..
