New Residential High-Rise at Ettlinger Tor in Karlsruhe

With the acquisition of a centrally located plot at Ettlinger Tor, weisenburger is expanding the KARLA area with a new residential high-rise. Directly following the completion of the KARLA administration and training center, a residential building standing approximately 50 meters tall is set to be constructed here.

The project combines subsidized housing with sophisticated architecture and high standards for sustainability and energy efficiency. All planned residential units will be realized under the housing promotion scheme in accordance with the State Housing Promotion Act (Landeswohnraumförderungsgesetz – LWoFG). This creates long-term, affordable housing in a central location.

The project also sets high energy standards. The residential building will be constructed to the KfW 40 standard and meets the requirements for the Sustainable Building Quality Seal (Qualitätssiegel Nachhaltiges Gebäude – QNG). As a result, the new construction seamlessly integrates into the overall sustainable concept of the KARLA area.

“The planned high-rise complements our new KARLA construction at a central location and completes the urban ensemble. Furthermore, the construction project makes an important contribution to creating housing in Karlsruhe,” emphasizes District Administrator (Landrat) Dr. Christoph Schnaudigel.

The development and execution of the project are handled within the weisenburger Group. weisenburger projekt GmbH takes on project development and the property developer role, while weisenburger bau GmbH is responsible for the construction of the building. Close collaboration within the corporate group allows planning, development, and construction to be efficiently coordinated.

With the new residential high-rise, another piece of the KARLA area is being created at Ettlinger Tor, providing additional affordable housing for Karlsruhe.
