Laying of the foundation stone Daxlanden

The foundation stone ceremony for the construction project in Karlsruhe-Daxlanden took place on Thursday, 9 May 2024. Together with the Heilig Geist Catholic Church Fund as the client, weisenburger is building a community centre with youth rooms, sanitary facilities and a community and group room in a quiet location.

The rooms provide space for various activities, meetings and events for the community and local residents. Specially designed spaces for young people allow them to meet and engage in a safe and supportive environment. These spaces can be used for educational programmes or leisure activities, for example.

The event began with a joint service in the church. The celebrations then took place on the construction site of the future community centre. Accompanied by the local music club, several speeches were given - including by the Mayor of Karlsruhe Dr Albert Käuflein, the Dean of the Catholic parish Hubert Streckert and the chairman of the Daxlandener associations. A time capsule, consisting of a newspaper, a certificate and coins, was ceremoniously placed in the recess provided for this purpose as a further item on the programme.

A special highlight was the subsequent auction on the church square, where the construction helmets were signed and then auctioned off. Finally, those present were able to round off the festivities with coffee and cake.

A big thank you goes to everyone who contributed to this important event. weisenburger is looking forward to continued successful cooperation and the positive development of the Heilig Geist community centre!
